8th Street Paving Project
The City of Port Angeles is currently developing improvements for the 8th Street corridor from Lincoln Street to “A” Street. This corridor is one of the City’s most active arterials and supports all models of transportation including vehicles, transit, pedestrians, bicyclists, and freight. It is a key transportation route for the City and improvements are necessary for all modes of transportation.

10th Street Bike Boulevard & 8th & A - Protected Intersection
This project extends from 10th and I Streets west to 8th and A Streets, and provides a vital connection of existing bike facilities on 10th Street west of I Street to bike lanes on the 8th Street bridges.

16th Street Stormwater Retrofit
This project will improve water quality in Tumwater Creek and Port Angeles Harbor by reducing adverse downstream stormwater impacts by reducing total suspended solids, dissolved copper, dissolved zinc, and total phosphorus.

2025 Neighborhood Sewer Rehabilitation
This project will rehabilitate 1,119 linear feet of 30-inch and 1,989 linear feet of 24-inch diameter sanitary sewer main.

"A" Street Basin Wastewater Capacity Improvements
The "A" Street Capacity Improvement Project aims to add sewer capacity and improving resiliency to an area which contains 25% of City utility customers, and the entire Western Urban Growth Area.

City Hall East Parking Lot LID Retrofit
This project will use Low-Impact Development (LID) techniques to manage stormwater onsite and provide much-needed restoration to the parking lot’s surface.

City Pier Vicinity Repairs
In 2024, the City of Port Angeles completed a project to augment the shoreline and repair long-damaged sidewalk at City Pier.

Criminal Justice Services
The City of Port Angeles is working with Clallam County and partners to finalize a new interlocal agreement for the provision of criminal justice services. As part of this work, the City is analyzing the cost of providing these services to ensure any new agreement is fair and affordable for our community.

Decant Facility
This project will improve water quality at the Port Angeles Watershed through the installation of a new decant facility.

Downtown Tree and Sidewalk Replacement
The goal of this project is to eliminate trip hazards along pedestrian facilities and beautify the downtown area. The work site includes Front Street, Oak Street, Laurel Street and Railroad Avenue.

First Street and Front Street Pedestrian Enhancements
This corridor is a key transportation route for Port Angeles and improved safety measures are necessary for all modes of transportation.

Laurel Street Stairs Replacement
This project includes the replacement of stairs at Laurel Street from the top of the bluff to downtown with easy to maintain materials.

Marine Drive Paving Project
Improvements for this project include asphalt paving of Marine Drive from Tumwater Truck Route to Hill Street. This project was completed July 26, 2024.

Race Street Phase I
In 2023, the City began the first phase of a three-phase project to improve the Race Street corridor, connecting the Olympic Discovery Trail and Port Angeles’ waterfront to the Olympic National Park Visitor Center

Signal Controller Upgrades along First Street and Front Street
This project will implement significant safety upgrades and improve traffic flow along the First and Front Street Corridor, including modern signal timing equipment, accessible pedestrian signals, and ADA-compliant curb ramps.

"Vision 2045" Comprehensive Plan Update
The "Vision 2045" Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update was approved by Port Angeles City Council in December 2025.

Wastewater Capacity Improvement Project
The Wastewater Capacity Improvement Project seeks to address two high risk capacity constrained segments of the sanitary sewer collection system. WW0120 Pump Station 3 Force Main Replacement, and WW0220 West 4th Street Capacity Improvement. These conveyance upgrades serve to increase sewer capacity to an area which contains 41% of City utility customers, in addition to a significant portion of the City’s projected future growth.
