The years long Climate Resiliency Planning effort is coming to a close with the first of two planned public hearings for the adoption of the Draft Climate Resiliency Plan. Opportunities to make public comment are provided below in a list and also in the formal joint public notice of the Public Hearings and SEPA Determination (No. 1448). • Planning Commission public hearing on 5/11 to discuss the Climate Resiliency Plan. 
• City Council work session on 5/17 (5-6 PM) to review the Climate Resiliency Plan in detail. Public comments can be made in the City Council meeting that directly follows the workshop.
• Planning Commission meeting on 5/25, if needed, to have additional discussion on Resiliency Plan.
• City Council meeting on 6/7 to conduct a first reading of the Resiliency Plan.
• City Council Meeting on 6/21 to decide on approval of the Climate Resiliency Plan.

PUBLIC NOTICE

- VIRTUAL Public Hearing for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment Application (PZ. 22-35) -

WHO: General public are provided notice at City Hall. Stakeholders and all community members are provided notice indirectly in the Peninsula Daily News, the City’s website, at the proposal’s location (although this application is citywide, and at City Hall (321 East 5th Street).

WHAT: The City of Port Angeles received a development application, see application details below. A necessary virtual public hearing for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment (CPA) Permit Application No. PZ 22-35 conducted by the City’s Planning Commission and City Council have been scheduled. Application information may be requested from the Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) by emailing ced@cityofpa.usor by viewing the application materials online at https://www.cityofpa.us/Meetings-Agendas.

HOW TO COMMENT: Interested parties are encouraged to comment on the Application Proposal and may request a copy of the decision once it’s been made. Any interested parties may submit written comment during the 14-day public comment period care of the Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) via email ced@cityofpa.us, or addressed to 321 E 5^th St., Port Angeles, WA 98362 no later than the comment period closing date of DATE. Verbal Comments can be made during the Public Hearing public comment period on the date listed below.

HEARING PARTICIPATION: The Audio Only and Live Hearing function will be available 30 minutes prior to the meeting. If you are unable to attend the hearing, or unable to deliver audio public testimony during the public hearing as described above, you may submit your written public testimony in advance of the hearing to ced@cityofpa.us for the Hearing Examiner’s consideration (all written public testimony must be received prior to the second hearing date of June 7, 2022).

STATE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT: A Determination of Non-Significance (No. 1448) has been made per WAC 197-11-340. This comment period will be the only time to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposed non-project action.

Any interested parties may submit written comment during the 14-day public comment period care of the Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) via email ced@cityofpa.us, or addressed to 321 E 5^th St., Port Angeles, WA 98362 no later than the comment period closing date of May 21, 2022.
