- VIRTUAL Public Hearing for a Conditional Use Permit Application (PZ. 20-65) -

WHO: General public are provided on the City’s website as a newsflash.

WHAT: The City of Port Angeles received a development application, see application details below. Due to Governor Inslee’s Proclamations 20-25 “Stay Home – Stay Healthy”, 20-28 “Open Public Meetings Act and Public Records Act”, and the anticipation of extensions of these and other proclamations of the Governor restricting public gathering, the City of Port Angeles is scheduling a necessary virtual public hearing for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) Application No. PZ 20-65 conducted by the City’s Hearing Examiner. Please see the applications details below. Application information may be requested from the Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) by emailing ced@cityofpa.us or by viewing the application materials online at the Hearing Examiner section of https://www.cityofpa.us/Meetings-Agendas

APPLICATION TYPE: Conditional Use Permit (CUP) with SEPA

DESCRIPTION: Operation of an I-502 regulated 3,800 sf cannabis production facility with the potential for future expansion of an additional 12,000 sf separate operating space.

HOW TO COMMENT: Interested parties are encouraged to comment on the proposal and may request a copy of the decision once it’s been made and any appeal rights. Any interested parties may submit written comment during the 14-day public comment period.  The Hearing Examiner decision will be made based on the Staff Report, record, and written public comment and verbal testimony, within 120 days of the date of completeness determination. Any appeal of this decision shall be filed within 21 days after the date of decision. 

HEARING PARTICIPATION: The Audio Only and Live Hearing function will be available 30 minutes prior to the meeting. If you are unable to attend the hearing, or unable to deliver audio public testimony during the public hearing as described above, you may submit your written public testimony in advance of the hearing to ced@cityofpa.us for the Hearing Examiner’s consideration (all written public testimony must be received prior to the hearing date of 3/19/21).

STATE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT: It is expected that a Determination of Nonsignificance will be issued for the project. This comment period will be the only time to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposed project, per WAC 197-11-340. The optional DNS process in WAC 197-11-355 is being used. Written comment must be submitted to the Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) ced@cityofpa.us, no later than February 28, 2021.
