- VIRTUAL Public Hearing for a Conditional Use Permit Application (PZ. 19-76) -

                Due to Governor Inslee’s Proclamations 20-25 “Stay Home – Stay Healthy”, 20-28 “Open Public Meetings Act and Public Records Act”, and the anticipation of extensions of these and other proclamations of the Governor restricting public gathering, the City of Port Angeles is scheduling a necessary virtual public hearing for Conditional Use Permit (CUP) Application No. PZ 19-76. Please see the application details below. Application information may be requested from the Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) by emailing or by viewing the application materials online at The virtual public hearing will be held on June 23, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. to decide on the CUP. The Audio Only and Live Hearing function will be available 30 minutes prior to the meeting. If you are unable to attend the hearing, or unable to deliver audio public testimony during the virtual public hearing as described below, you may submit your public testimony in advance of the hearing to or by sending it to Community & Economic Development at 321 E. 5th Street, Port Angles, WA 98362 for the Hearing Examiner’s consideration prior to issuing a decision (all public testimony must be received prior to the hearing date of 6/23/20).

SEPA INFORMATION AND DETERMINATION: On June 2, 2020, The City of Port Angeles issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter 197-11-355 WAC) for the project. After a review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the agency, the City of Port Angeles has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. Parties of record may appeal the decision within 14 days of the final Notice of Decision by submitting such written appeal no later than June 16, 2020 to the City Clerk’s Office, 321 East 5th Street, Port Angeles, WA 98362 or e-mail You should be prepared to make specific factual objections.

The Hearing Examiner decision will be made based on the staff report, and record, written public comment and verbal testimony, within 120 days of the date of completeness determination.  Any appeal of this decision shall be filed within 21 days after the date of decision
