Notice is hereby given that the City of Port Angeles Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on April 24, 2019 and the City Council will hold a public hearing on June 4, 2019 to consider amendments to the city’s comprehensive plan and municipal code.
The City of Port Angeles is conducting its annual amendment process for the City’s Comprehensive Plan and proposes to make amendments to the plan. The proposed amendments include addressing any internal inconsistencies; eliminating redundancies, vagueness and ambiguity; evaluate the definition of "policy", incorporate the 2019 Housing Needs Assessment, and review policies within the plan.
Members of the public and interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearing in front of the Planning Commission that will be conducted on April 24, 2019 at 6:00 PM, City Hall, 321 E. Fifth Street, Port Angeles, Washington in the City Council Chambers. The public may also attend the public hearing in front of the City Council that will be conducted on June 4, 2019 at 6:30 PM, City Hall, 321 E. Fifth Street, City Council Chambers. The public comment period for this application ends on April 24, 2019. Verbal testimony will be taken during the public hearings. Information about the proposed amendments may be reviewed at the City’s Department of Community & Economic Development, Attn: Assistant Planner, City Hall, 321 East Fifth Street, Port Angeles. City Hall is accessible to persons with disabilities.
STATE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT (SEPA): The City of Port Angeles is the SEPA lead agency for this application and expects to issue a Determination of Non Significance (DNS) for the proposal. This may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposed project per WAC 197-11-355. The public comment period that will end on April 24, 2019. This notice and environmental checklist will be distributed to agencies with jurisdiction or expertise, affected tribes, and the public.
