Port Angeles Announces New Community & Economic Development Director

Allyson Brekke, Planning Manager for the City of Port Angeles has been promoted to Community & Economic Development Director. Prior to coming to the City in 2016, Allyson served in multiple roles for the City of Bozeman, Montana. Allyson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Mary Washington and a Master’s Degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.

As the Community & Economic Development Director, Allyson’s areas of responsibility include economic development, community development (planning, land use, zoning, permitting, etc.), building permits, and cultural resources. Since her tenure with the City, Allyson has developed successful relationships with multiple government agency stakeholders and organizations involved with the community and economic development of Port Angeles. This year she was selected to participate in the inaugural Northwest Women’s Leadership Academy sponsored by the Washington City-County Management Association. Her leadership skills and abilities as a contributing strategic member of the Leadership Team for the City of Port Angeles, make Allyson a great choice for the position of Community & Economic Development Director.
