The City of Port Angeles is now accepting applications for the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Center for Quality Communities (CQC) Scholarship. This scholarship is available through a statewide competitive process for high school seniors who are active in leadership in their city government, community, or school and plan to pursue post-secondary education in fall 2026.
CQC is awarding up to four $3,000 scholarships in 2026. Scholarship recipients also receive a travel stipend to attend AWC’s Annual Conference in Spokane, Washington, in June 2026.
To be eligible, a student must be:
- A Washington resident;
- Graduating from high school, completing homeschooling, or receiving a GED in spring/summer 2026;
- Planning to continue their education at an accredited college or trade school in the 2026-2027 academic year on at least a half-time basis; and
- Active in leadership in their city government, community, or school.

To apply for the 2026 AWC Center for Quality Communities Scholarship, please follow this link: https://cityofpa-formsdev.app.transform.civicplus.com/forms/59504. Applications and recommendation letters must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on January 12, 2026.
Please contact the City Clerk by phone, email, or in person if a paper application is needed. If an applicant is unable to complete an application via the link above, applications and letters of recommendation can instead be emailed to the City Clerk’s Office at cityclerk@cityofpa.us, or mailed to the City of Port Angeles (Attention: City Clerk’s Office), 321 East 5th Street, Port Angeles, Washington 98362.
The Port Angeles City Council appointed subcommittee will review applications and select one student to nominate to the CQC. Scholarship recipients will be announced by the CQC in spring 2026.
