[ARCHIVED] City Phone and Internet System Impacted by Astound Outage; 911 Services Unaffected

City Logo

Astound has a local fiber break as a result of the structure fire that occurred overnight. This outage has impacted the City’s ability to accept credit card payments at City Hall and the Transfer Station. We do not yet have an estimate from Astound when their outage will be resolved. All internet access and phones at City facilities are impacted by the outage.  This includes credit card machines at the Transfer Station.  Blue Mountain Transfer Station is not open on Mondays and will be closed tomorrow for the Veteran's Day holiday.

This outage impacts services that rely on Astound for internet and phone service.  Pencom 9-1-1 is unable to receive, or make calls using their business lines, but 9-1-1 is still functioning.  Pencom has a secondary path for internet and are able to provide dispatch services to responding agencies.  If you have an emergency, please call 9-1-1 to report it.  If you have a non-emergency that can wait, please attempt a call to the business lines later today. At this time Astound has not provided an estimate on how long it will take to repair their outage, but we are advised that technicians on scene.

Customers can still make payments for utilities and other fees via cash, check or money order.

Utility customers can also make utility bill payments:

  • Online at https://ipn2.paymentus.com/rotp/cpaw
  • Over the phone by calling toll free 844-446-6249
  • Using the utility bill drop box, located just outside of City Hall at 321 E 5th Street (checks, only)
