[ARCHIVED] 8th Street Paving Detours During Overnight Road Closure for May 12th - May 14th

The City of Port Angeles Public Works Department will be repaving a section of 8th Street.  To minimize the impact of this work and in recognition of the other daytime construction in progress, the City scheduled this as night work.  Construction will take place daily from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. as crews mill and overlay the pavement along 8th Street from Lincoln Street to A Street.

During these hours, residents can expect a full closure of 8th Street, Lincoln Street to A Street, with signed detours in place.  Access for residents between the 8th Street bridges will be maintained at all times via alternating closures of Cedar and Pine Streets.

The roadway will reopen at 6 a.m. to allow for daytime usage.

Please be careful when traveling near the work zone. Residents should drive slowly, be on the alert, and follow directions provided by traffic control personnel and signage.

 About the Project

The 8th Street Paving Project improvements will include the removal and replacement of existing asphalt along 8th Street between Lincoln and “A” Streets as well as resealing of the 8th Street bridges to extend the service life of both.
