Upcoming Tree Trimming around Power Lines
The City of Port Angeles with contractor Davey Tree Surgery Company will begin tree trimming maintenance on July 29, 2024. This work includes carefully pruning or trimming branches to maintain the health of the trees, while ensuring they are clear of nearby high voltage lines.
The City performs this work to promote both public safety and reliable electric service. A recent inspection of the City’s power lines confirmed a need to trim many trees before winter. This maintenance will minimize fire hazards, keep trees from growing into power lines, and help to avoid power outages caused by fallen branches.
Tree trimming work is expected to continue for the next 6-7 weeks at various locations in the city (click here for map). Minor traffic revisions are expected during this work. Please be careful when traveling through or near the work areas. Travelers should drive slowly, be on the alert, and follow directions given by Traffic personnel or signage.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Public Works & Utilities Department at (360) 417-4800 or publicworks@cityofpa.us.
