Please join the Parks & Recreation Department for an exciting and fun-filled day as we celebrate the 2023 Port Angeles Day of Play! This year’s event, taking place on July 22nd, will be bigger and better than ever with recreational activities for families and children of all ages.
Day of Play, which coincides with National Parks and Recreation Month, recognizes the importance of recreation in our lives and highlights the many opportunities available in our area. It’s a chance to explore our local parks, engage in fun and new activities, and connect with the Port Angeles community.
The Parks & Recreation Department has partnered with local organizations to offer a wide range of activities. From live music and performances to sports fundamentals and yard games, there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
Stamp Your Day of Play "Kids Passport” for a Chance to Win Fun Prizes!
This year’s event includes a Day of Play “Kids Passport.” This is a prize system that offers even more recreational opportunities to children and their families! To be entered into the prize drawing, participants must carry their “Kids Passport” and collect a stamp at each Day of Play activity they attend. Passports can be downloaded from the City website or picked up from the Parks & Recreation Office, located at 308 East 4th Street. Limited copies will also be available for pick up on July 22nd at any “Day of Play” activity location.
Following the event, participants must submit their stamped passports to the Parks & Recreation Office by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26th. Winners will be contacted on Thursday, July 27th.
Recreational prizes include:
- Disc Golf Pack
- Pool Day Passes
- Swains Gift Card
- Free Admission to the Olympic Skate Village
- 2-Hour Rental of the Loomis Building at Lincoln Park
- BMX Bike and 12-Month Membership to Lincoln Park BMX
- Kid’s Birthday Party hosted at Welly’s Ice Cream and The Wharf
- Free Admission to the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center Wintertide Festival
- Tickets to “Unit Souzou: A Taiko Drum Concert,” held at the Field Arts Hall & Events Center
- Tickets to the Port Angeles Lefties game on August 5th, with an opportunity to throw the first pitch
