6/10/2022 UPDATE: A section of the Olympic Discovery Trail, located in between the Francis Street stairs and Red Lion Hotel, will be closed tomorrow, 6/11/22, from 8:00am to 11:00am. This will allow Parks & Recreation staff to move a portion of the mudslide out of the way to make the trail passable. The hill at the Francis Street entrance will still be accessible.

Heavy rains have caused a large mudslide along the Olympic Discovery Trail, located in front of 9/11 Memorial Waterfront Park. The slide has temporarily blocked the trail at that location. For safety purposes, the stairway leading from 9/11 Memorial Waterfront Park to the Olympic Discovery Trail has been closed indefinitely. Removal of the mudslide on the trail is weather-dependent. There is concern that removing it from the base at this time may allow more material to slide and harm the structure.

The City will provide updates as they become available. For additional Olympic Discovery Trail updates, please visit: https://olympicdiscoverytrail.org/explore/trail-alerts/
