The City of Port Angeles, in partnership with the Washington State Department of Revenue, would like to remind businesses that a valid business license and city endorsement are required and must be renewed annually. 

This program, which took effect in June 2025, streamlines the licensing process by allowing businesses to easily apply for or renew their Washington State business license and Port Angeles city endorsement. The City endorsement is shown on your state license and serves as your official local business license. 

All businesses, regardless of type, must obtain a business license and Port Angeles city endorsement. However, some businesses and non-profit organizations may be exempt from paying the annual fee: 

• Nonprofit organizations: $0 annual fee 
• Businesses with annual gross revenues between $0 - $25,000: $0 annual fee
• Businesses with annual gross revenues of $25,001 or more: $190 annual fee

Businesses with a lapsed City endorsement have been mailed informational notice. Businesses whose licenses remains lapsed will receive a follow-up notice in the coming weeks. You must obtain a valid license and City endorsement in order to be compliant with the Port Angeles Municipal Code.
