We're looking for volunteers!
The City of Port Angeles invites residents to take part in our annual Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, October 25! Volunteers will assist fellow community members by planting street trees in neighborhoods throughout the city.
This event is part of the City Shade Street Tree Program, which aims to increase the number of trees planted in residential areas. This year, the City will provide 75 free street trees to Port Angeles residents. Volunteers are needed to help plant about 30 of those trees.
What We'll Accomplish:
Together, we’ll spend a few hours planting new trees that’ll make our neighborhoods healthier, cooler, and more beautiful. These trees will provide shade, help clean our air, and create greener spaces for everyone to enjoy.
What You'll Gain as a Volunteer:
- Learning Experience: All volunteers will learn how to properly plant and care for a tree (no prior planting experience is necessary).
- Enjoy the Outdoors: Spend a couple of hours outside getting fresh air.
- Connect with Others: Volunteer alongside like-minded members of your community.
The Arbor Day event will be held at City Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on October 25. Tree planting will take place later that afternoon. Tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own gardening gloves.
