Project Overview
The 16th Street Stormwater Retrofit Project, TR0715 in the Capital Facilities Plan, begins on Tuesday, October 7. This project will use stormwater retrofit techniques to improve water quality in the Tumwater Creek and Port Angeles Harbor. As part of this work, crews will install three biofilters and one CDS® Hydrodynamic Separator on 16th Street, at the “C,” D,” and “E” Street intersections. These stormwater upgrades will help remove pollutants, like total suspended solids, dissolved copper, dissolved zinc and total phosphorus, from stormwater runoff before connecting into Tumwater Creek.
What residents can expect:
On Tuesday, October 7, work will take place at the intersection of 16th and C Streets (see map below). A detour will be in place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic around the construction area.
