This month, the City of Port Angeles will begin the Jones Street Reservoir Valve Replacement Project (WT0125 in the Capital Facilities Plan). This planned water system improvement will replace a failing altitude valve at the reservoir in order to maintain high water levels in the reservoir tank and ensure reliable water pressure for our utility customers. Work is scheduled to begin on July 13 and be completed during the first week of August.
What this means for you:
To complete this project, a planned reduction in water pressure is necessary. This period of lower pressure is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 28, and water pressure is expected to be fully restored by Friday, August 1. During this time, residents and businesses may experience a drop in water pressure.
The City of Port Angeles is asking for your help in conserving water during this lower pressure period. Please limit water use to necessary activities such as drinking, cooking, and basic hygiene. Please restrict unnecessary activities like lawn watering, filling pools, and washing cars.
We thank you for your patience and support as we begin this important project. Please know that we will work to ensure the period of lower water pressure is as short as possible. For questions about this work, please call the Public Works & Utilities Department at (360) 417-4800.
