City Logo

The City of Port Angeles invites community members to contribute their perspectives by serving on one of the City’s advisory boards, commissions or committees. Interested individuals must submit their applications by 12 p.m. on August 22 to be considered during the first review.

The City has a variety of advisory boards, commissions and committees. From beautification programs to public safety services, these advisory groups offer an opportunity for dedicated individuals to weigh in on a range of important issues. Advisory group members are appointed by the City Council and volunteer their time to serve the Port Angeles community.

Each advisory group is unique in its number of members, roles, duties and term lengths. Terms of office vary between one and four years. Most terms of office begin on March 1 in the year the appointment is made, and conclude on the last day of February in the year when the appointment expires. For example: A four-year term to begin on March 1, 2025, will expire on February 28, 2029.

Additionally, each advisory group provides an opportunity for youth participation. While Youth Advisors are non-voting members, they have a unique opportunity to offer their perspectives, learn about city government, and develop their leadership skills. To serve as a Youth Advisor, applicants must be 14-18 years old and reside within the City of Port Angeles. A parent or guardian must also provide written permission for the youth member to participate. Applications will be reviewed in the fall of each year, and then as needed to fill vacant positions.
