Starting in April, the Olympic Discovery Trail will undergo maintenance and repairs. Please see details below.

Locations/Schedule of Work

April 21-25, 2025: Work will take place on the Olympic Discovery Trail, starting at the bottom of Hill Street and continuing east along Marine Drive toward the entrance of the Port Angeles Yacht Club (see map below). This maintenance follows regrading work completed in December 2024. Once complete, this trail segment will be fully resurfaced. The Olympic Discovery Trail will be closed in this area while work is underway. The Olympic Discovery Trail will be closed from Hill Street to the Yacht Club.

April 29 – May 16: Maintenance is scheduled to repair 12 damaged sections of trail surface and shoreline armoring along the Olympic Discovery Trail, located between Lees Creek and Morse Creek (see map below).

This segment of trail will be closed for approximately three weeks while repairs are underway. Alternative routes heading eastbound and westbound are available:

The trail damage is the result of a winter storm in January 2024. The damage was submitted to and accepted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for disaster relief funding. All grant-eligible project expenses are expected to be reimbursed through the agency.
