On Monday, March 31, the City of Port Angeles will begin a Road Improvement Project at Lincoln Park. This project will focus on resurfacing the road leading into and around the park (from Lauridsen Boulevard), addressing potholes and improving overall road and parking lot conditions. Once complete, park visitors can expect smooth roads and parking areas, with cleaned edges to allow for proper drainage.
The City will also install bollards to prevent vehicles from driving off-road. This effort will help protect tree roots from damage, which can lead to erosion within the park.
To facilitate this work, Lincoln Park will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting on March 31 and continuing through mid-April. The project is expected to be fully complete by April 21, weather permitting.
Please note that youth athletic activities will not be affected by the closure. Practices and games may continue as scheduled. The Port Angeles Dog Park is also unaffected and will remain open during regular hours.
Road diversions may be in place at times during this project. We ask park visitors to exercise caution when traveling through or near the work area. Please drive slowly, be on the alert, and follow directions provided by traffic control signage.
We appreciate your patience as we work to improve Lincoln Park. For more information, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (360) 417-4550 or email parksandrecreation@cityofpa.us.
