What should Port Angeles look like in 2045?
The City of Port Angeles is updating the Comprehensive Plan, a long-term strategy that will outline our community’s vision, identify, and development strategies for the next 20 years. It will also guide decisions on key issues like:
- Housing accessibility and equity;
- Local economic development, business establishment and retention, and employment opportunities;
- Future land use mapping and zoning practices;
- Utility development and ongoing maintenance;
- Park and recreation access;
- Neighborhood services;
- Environmental protection and climate resiliency; and
- Transportation access and continuity.
This update project is the largest long-range planning effort Port Angeles has seen in decades, and we need your input to make it a success. Whether you live, work, or frequently travel through Port Angeles, your insights are key to shaping our city’s future. Your feedback will help us to address population growth, enhance economic and environmental resilience, and ensure Port Angeles remains a great place to live, work, play, visit, and raise a family.
What’s Happening Next?
The City is hosting a three-day Storefront Studio to hear from you, share ideas, and help plan Port Angeles’ future. Drop in throughout the day to explore interactive displays, engage in informal discussion with City staff, and provide your input. We are here to listen and learn from you.
Each evening, join us for a scheduled workshop, where we’ll dive deeper into key topics and encourage collaborative discussion. These sessions are also open for drop-in participation.
- Day 1 Vision and Development Scenarios: Let’s talk about our vision for 2045. We will discuss priorities, review results from the community survey, and explore how we can achieve our community vision.
- Day 2 Making It Real: Together, we will focus on the challenges of today and learn how policies shape the way we respond. Let’s explore various issues and identify potential policy improvements.
- Day 3 Review and Refine: We will reflect on the past days’ discussions. Afterward, the Planning Commission will hold an on-site public meeting to consider the community’s feedback, ask visitors to weigh in on workshop efforts, and help the City refine the results into a preferred planning direction.

Getting There
The Storefront Studio will be located at 230 East 1st Street, just one block from the Gateway Transit Center. For more information on bus routes and schedules, please visit the Clallam Transit website: https://www.clallamtransit.com/. Clallam Transit has eliminated fares on most routes for 2024; all local transit is free of charge!
Public parking is located nearby the Storefront Studio at the following locations:
- Public parking at the corner of 1st Street and Lincoln Street
- Public parking at the corner of 2nd Street and Lincoln Street
- On street parking along 1st Street
Bicycle storage will be available onsite and will be monitored during the studio and workshop activities. ADA access is available in the studio space. Please inform our staff upon arrival, and we will be happy to assist you.
