[ARCHIVED] Wastewater Capacity Improvement Project Update

City Project Information (General)

The City of Port Angeles with Scarsella Bros, Inc. has made substantial progress on the project to upgrade and expand wastewater conveyance capacity in West Port Angeles. Since June, work has been underway to install a parallel gravity main along West 4th Street, a critical improvement aimed at increasing sewer capacity and preventing sanitary sewer overflows. At this time, we are happy to announce that the installation is now complete.

Next Steps

Paving work will begin on West 4th Street on Thursday, August 22, and continue through Friday, August 23. Additional repairs and property restoration will continue through the end of August. Finally, pavement striping is scheduled for September 5-6, 2024. Project demobilization will be complete by September 6.

Working hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During these times, residents can expect occasional traffic delays. Please be careful when driving or walking through or near the work area. Residents should drive slowly, be on the alert, and follow directions given by Traffic Control personnel and signage.

This project is a vital step in addressing aging infrastructure, improving the flow capacity of our wastewater collection system, and ensuring reliable service for our utility customers. We appreciate your continued patience as we complete these important upgrades.
