On March 6, 2024, the Port Angeles City Council voted to adopt a Short-Term Lodging Ordinance. Per the ordinance, owners and operators of active short-term lodging operations (short-term rentals and bed and breakfasts) must obtain a business license from the City of Port Angeles.
Submit Your Application by August 1, 2024
The deadline for Short-Term Lodging Business License Applications is quickly approaching. The application window opened on July 1 and remains open until August 1. To ensure that your application is reviewed, please submit it along with all required documentation by August 1. Any applications submitted after this date will be placed on a waitlist. Next Steps
Following the submittal of your application, the City will perform a completeness review. Applicants will be notified of any missing or incomplete items. Missing items must be submitted and reviewed by the City by September 15. After this date, incomplete applications will be placed on a waitlist.
Revised Inspection Requirements for Bed and Breakfasts
On July 16, 2024, the Port Angeles City Council adopted an ordinance which substitutes the City Fire-Life Safety Inspection requirement for bed and breakfast operations. As a result, the City will not require a City-provided Fire-Life Safety Inspection for bed and breakfasts. Instead, owners/operators of bed and breakfasts will be required to upload their approved inspections from the Clallam County Department of Health and Washington State Department of Health.
