[ARCHIVED] City to Accept Applications for Short-Term Lodging Beginning July 1, 2024

Short Term Lodging

Starting July 1, 2024, owners and operators of active short-term lodging operations (short-term rentals and bed and breakfasts) must obtain a business license and inspection from the City of Port Angeles. All applications must be submitted by August 1, 2024. Applications received after August 1 will be placed on a waitlist.

How to Apply

Beginning July 1, applicants will be able to utilize the Online Licensing Portal (cityofpa.munirevs.com) to apply for a short-term lodging business license, update account information, pay applicable fees, and renew licenses with ease.

To apply, applicants must have all of the required documentation prepared. Please visit the Short-Term Lodging webpage (cityofpa.us/ShortTermLodging) for a list of required documents.

Your Registration Letter

To begin the application process, your short-term lodging unit must be registered in the licensing portal system. Owners and operators of active short-term rental and bed and breakfast properties have been mailed an official registration letter containing a unique Account Number and Activation Code. This information is required to complete the registration process.

To access your account, please visit cityofpa.munirevs.com. After registering your email address and selecting a password, you will be prompted to utilize the unique information provided in your registration letter to securely link to your property.

If you are managed by a property management company, please provide them with your Account Number and Activation Code so they can attach themselves to your account. They will not be able to access your account until you share the Account Number and Activation Code with them. To protect the security of your account, please do not share this information with anyone else.

If you own an inactive short-term lodging unit, would like to begin operating a new short-term lodging unit, or if you are an existing operator who did not receive a registration letter in the mail, please contact the Community & Economic Development Department to receive your unique account information.

Multiple Registration Letters 

Per the ordinance approved by City Council, one unit will be permitted per Short-Term Rental Business License; one Short-Term Rental Business License will be issued per owner; and one Short-Term Rental Business License will be issued per parcel.  

Please be advised that if you currently operate multiple short-term rental properties and have received multiple registration letters, you are only eligible to apply for one business license for one property.

On Thursday, June 27, City staff hosted a Short-Term Lodging Webinar with nearly 100 participants in attendance. This webinar reviewed application requirements, demonstrated use of the online licensing portal, and provided an opportunity for live Q&A.
