1 Student Member Needed: Members of the Commission give advisory recommendations to the City Council on all matters relating to parks, recreation and beautification. Members cooperate with and advise the Parks & Recreation Director in the development and implementation of a comprehensive recreation program, a comprehensive park development program, beautification programs, and the general appearance of the City. The Commission also cooperates with the Director in resolving any problems or complaints arising from departmental programs or facilities.
The student representatives are appointed to one-year terms and are non-voting positions. The Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission meets the third Thursday of each month, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers. The Parks commission meets during the months of September through June.
