Community Update: Local Cell/Internet Service Interruptions – City Services Unaffected

City Logo

The City of Port Angeles is aware of interruptions to cell and internet service in our area. Century Link and T-Mobile users are primarily affected. The interruptions are not City related and City data and VoIP networks, including Peninsula Communications (911 services), are not impacted at this time. City staff are actively monitoring the situation.

If you are experiencing issues with phone connectivity, please know that you can still contact us in person at City Hall (321 East 5th Street). Staff are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You can also contact us via email (click here for a Staff Directory), on social media (City of Port Angeles on Facebook), or explore information and services on our website at www.cityofpa.us.

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, citizens with weak or no cell signal should still be able to make a successful call to 911. When dialing 911, your phone sends a signal to the nearest cell tower, regardless of cell service plan. As long as your call can reach a usable tower within range, your emergency call should go through.

In addition, citizens with weak or spotty cell signal may still be able to text 911, even if voice calls do not go through.

Please do not call or text 911 to test your cell phone service.
