Community Volunteer and Donation Opportunities
We’ve all heard a lot recently about how to protect ourselves and our community during this difficult times. Its essential that you protect yourself first. But once you’ve protected yourself, you may ask "what else can I do?".
You may feel like you are powerless to help your community during this pandemic, but there are opportunities to safely help those in need. Below are links to some of those options.
If you are personally aware of other options that are not listed, please contact Port Angeles COVID-19 Public Information Officer Marian Bodart, firstname.lastname@example.org, and staff will review the opportunity and update this website.
COVID-19 is creating new needs, while putting enormous financial pressure on many in our community. The economic uncertainty caused by the pandemic is especially difficult for our residents with limited financial reserves to carry them through lean times. In an effort to respond to the economic uncertainty faced by many in our community, the City is accepting donations, 100% of which will be used to support local residents who cannot pay their utility bill.
In any given week the food bank see around 300 households, and with the school closure and people struggling to get to work, they expect that number to increase if not double. Please donate funds to the food bank in order to continue to support the growing number of those in need.
Clallam County is asking for donations of masks, gowns and gloves for our clinics and hospitals. Donations are accepted at the Emergency Operations Center in the basement of the Clallam County Courthouse (M, W and F, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m.). If you need to deliver items on Tuesday or Thursday, please call ahead to schedule an appointment: (360) 417-2430.
