Boards & Commissions
Overview
The City of Port Angeles has a variety of advisory boards, commissions, and committees. From beautification programs to public safety services, these advisory groups offer an opportunity for dedicated individuals to weigh in on a range of important issues. Members of City advisory groups are appointed by the City Council and volunteer their time to serve and strengthen the Port Angeles community.
Each advisory group is unique in its number of members, roles, duties and term lengths. Most terms of office begin March 1st of the year in which the appointment is made. Terms of office vary between one and fours years in length, and conclude on the last day of February in the year when the appointment expires. For example: a four-year term length to begin on March 1, 2024 will expire on February 28, 2028.
When an advisory group has a vacancy, the City seeks interested citizens through advertisements on the City's website and in local media.
