Climate
Port Angeles enjoys a coastal climate and is mild throughout the year. On average, temperatures range from the 30's in winter months to the 70's in the summer months. Average rain fall is 25 inches per year for Port Angeles.
The weather of Port Angeles is impacted by two major natural features; water and mountains. The water, which nearly surrounds the area, keeps the temperature amazingly temperate on a year-round basis. Seldom does it get real cold, and almost all summer is considered sweater weather.
The Olympic Mountains also play a big role in influencing the weather. Because they rise over 7,000 feet and are south and west of Port Angeles, the mountains create a rain shadow effect on the Port Angeles/Sequim region.
This combination of comfortable temperatures and a reasonable amount of rain, makes it not only ideal for human beings but plants love it too, which is why flowers, gardening, and boutique farming are becoming so popular in this area. Source: Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce
