STAFFING & SERVICES The Port Angeles Recreation Division is responsible for a broad range of programs and services for the community. The division operates a senior center, a community center, and a fine arts center.
The division also functions as a scheduling center for recreation programs at City as well as school district facilities.

Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission
Members of the Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission give advisory recommendations to the City Council on all matters relating to parks, recreation and beautification; cooperate with and advise the Recreation Services Managerin the development and implementation of a comprehensive recreation program, a comprehensive park development program, beautification programs, and the general appearance of the City.
The Commission also has the power to accept, on behalf of the City, donations for parks and recreation purposes, and with Council consent, to accept real property for park purposes, with the City holding title.

The Commission advises on the annual budget and cooperates in resolving any problems or complaints arising from departmental programs or facilities.
The Commission members are appointed to four-year terms, with a limit of two consecutive terms. The Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission meets the third Thursday of each month, at 6:00 p.m., in the Vern Burton Conference Room at City Hall. The Commission takes summer hiatus (June, July & August) each year.
