A resolution was passed by the City Council on June 30th, 1895, requesting a Patent conveying title to said lands to the city. It was signed on June 24th, 1895 by President Grover Cleveland's secretary and recorded April 28th, 1900 with the County Auditor. On August 14, 1894, the 54 acre cemetery was ready for business. 
This old cemetery provides a detailed look at the social, ethnic, cultural and economic style of the past.
