Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)

The report is prepared according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for government as established by the Government Accounting Standard Board (GASB). It is audited by the Washington State Auditor's Office........
Finance Department Receives Award for 2008 Budget
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the City of Port Angeles with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2008 budget.
This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and represents a significant achievement by the City's Finance Department.
This is the 18th year in a row that the Finance Department has been recognized for their commitment to meeting the highest principles of govermental budgeting.
In order to receive this award, the City had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.
Award recipients have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America.
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) is a nonprofit professional association serving 16,000 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.
