The seven member City Council is elected at large and serve 4-year terms. The City Council elects a Mayor and Deputy Mayor from the Council to serve 2-year terms.
The City Manager operates as the Chief Executive Officer of the City, and is responsible to the City Council for the administration of municipal functions. The City Clerk provides general information about the City of Port Angeles to the public. The Clerk prepares and preserves the minutes for City Council. City ordinances, resolutions and other official City records are preserved by the Clerk along with the responsibility of codification of the Port Angeles Municipal Code. Community & Economic Development Encouraging economic growth is a never-ending process. The City is an active participant in the pursuit of local and regional economic development and strategies. Fine Arts Center Your Fire Department is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the citizens and visitors of the City while providing a broad range of services designed to save lives and property. The mission of Human Resources is to provide leadership in attracting and retaining quality professional staff as a key to providing effective service to the citizens of Port Angeles. The Legal Department provides legal representation for all city government related matters and has five major functions. Located at 3127 West 18th Street, the cemetery office is open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. We have a great display of reasonably priced premium quality urns, memorials and monuments. We also provide citywide engineering support, power management and servicing of the city's vehicle fleet. William Shore Memorial Swimming Pool William Shore Memorial Pool was named for William "Bill" Shore, a Port Angeles coach and physical education instructor prominent in swimming circles for many years. Swim lessons for all abilities are available for students year-round, from ages 4 through Senior Citizens. Placement tests, specialty classes including Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Water Safety Instructor training and private lessons are also available.
