The Comprehensive Plan for the City of Port AngelesThe City's Comprehensive Plan serves as the core of the land use controls which all other city plans, ordinances, and regulations must be in compliance with and support.

If subordinate planning or regulations, such as the City's Zoning Ordinance or Capital Facility Plan, are not consistent with the goals and policies of the Comprehensive Plan, then those documents may be determined to be unlawfull and rendered invalid.

The Comprehensive Plan is the basis upon which Community Development decisions are to be made.

Updates & Revisions
The current Comprehensive Plan was initially adopted on June 28, 1994, and has been amended every year since.

The Port Angeles Comprehensive Plan is in compliance with the Growth Management Act of the State of Washington. The Comprehensive Plan covers a 20-year period and it must be reviewed at least every seven years and can be amended once a year.
