City Seeking ApplicantsThe City of Port Angeles is accepting applications to fill vacancies on the Planning Commission (2 MEMBERS NEEDED)The members of the Planning Commission review long range planning proposals, including amendments and updates to the City’s Comprehensive Plan, and changes to land use controls and make recommendations to the City Council. The Commission is also authorized and empowered to act as a research and fact-finding agency of the City as generally directed or requested by the City Council. Planning Commission members shall be residents of the City and shall demonstrate an understanding of (1) the benefits to the community of zoning and planning, (2) the scope and purpose of the City's Comprehensive Plan and (3) the rules of procedure and conduct applicable to Planning Commission members.
Members are appointed to four-year terms, with a limit of two consecutive terms. The Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers.
